Spier's School Grounds

from Mirror Image by The Jonah Complex

/

lyrics

Hello my dear,
oh it's been so long.
Since that walk at the end of last summer.
And the old abandoned schoolgrounds held so many secrets,
if not remnants of a far and vivacious past.

So what do these stone walls tell us
about the lifespan of our affections?
Or the way in which we treat ourselves tonight?

And I've taken to walking alone at night,
past Trinity Crescent and up to the old war memorial.
And are you out there, somewhere between those tombs?
Or am I haunting myself again?
I'd choose the latter over you any day.

Now this is coming to an ending,
I hope you hear sincerity.
Because I spend more time than I care to admit
thinking about this.
